My check engine light came on today and now my tranny is not shifting properly and is makinng a clunking noise what can I expect when I take is to the shop or is there anything I can check first thanks

Diagnostic Trouble Codes. You said your check engine light came on so you'll have a code stored and that'll tell you where the problem is. If you don't have a scanner Auto Zone will scan it for free, or pay $75.00 and have your dealer do it.

Also... fill out your signature. Click User CP then Edit Signature. Helps us understand what you're driving, what mods you have, etc. For an example, take a look at Pops' sig... or mine.
