: Roar from engine at 58 to 60 MPH Thankful 02-28-2005, 10:53 PM I just purchased a 2005 Silverado 2500HD Crew Cab with the Durmax/Allison package. Great truck, however I've noticed a roar from the engine that only occurs at 58 to 60 MPH. It starts at 58 MPH and quits after I pass 60 MPH. I only have 250 miles so it may just need to be broken in. Any thoughts from any of you guys? Thanks. I havent noticed it much lately because I now have the predator. The noise (and vibration) start in low 5th before the convertor kicks. It is such a wierd rpm for the truck....its enough to pull 5th but too low for city driving. Does anyone know if it is the convertor that is making this noise? I have seen this question asked a few times but never got a definite yes.
