Just got back from my trip and went to unhook my 26' toy hauler that 9600# gvw and can't remove the sleave and noticed the pin hole was longated. Not all that confindate in the hitch now anyone else out there having this problem. My dealer said i'm the second one he's seen and is blaming it on the sleave that makes the hitch 2" from 2.5".

They all do the same thing if heavier loads are connected to to them. Mine is bad. Time to replace the factory set-up with a more quality hitch.

Even with just a regular load leveling hitch attached to the OEM hitch I have the elongated pin hole. Sometimes I can feel it when I take off from a stop...makes a nice little banging noise. I'll keep an eye on it and if it gets too bad I guess I'll have to replace the hitch with a real one or maybe take this one off and have it beefed up ;) BTW I tow a 24' Tag pull Enclosed race car trailer that weighs in around 11k.

If it gets too out of round, just drill another hole an inch or so forward or back. No need to spend the time and money on a new hitch.....:D

how much tongue weight you guys running with?
I've jerked some heavy loads and I run a lot of tongue weight, kind of hard for the tube to slide when it's loaded. I also run a cushion hitch when towing wagons and some have been over 24k#. 1000-1500 gallons tank wagons are the hardest to tow, the slush and really jerk on the hitch. Been doing it for 4 years and my hitch is still like new.

Also be sure the angled part of your hitch pin is AWAY from the sleeve. That's what caused mine to do it on one side.

I replaced the tube in mine and welded hardened washers on the outside of the new one. I will not use an angled pin anymore at all. You can still get straight pins

Mine did the same on a trip to Alaska in 99-- I took it to a welding shop and had them weld plates to the side of the hitch- so when I stopped, the plates hit the receiver tube and no more problems. Also it was so much easier putting the pin in-- just slide the hitch in until it stopped and slide the pin in. :D

Are you sure there not supposed to be elongated? I noticed mine was before it was ever used.

Aren't the 2 1/2" factory receivers still only rated for 7500# on a ball and 12000# with a w/d hitch? What percentage of that is supposed to be tongue weight?
