I got my kit and was inspecting it. I put my finger in the "clean" hole of the filter head. When I pulled it out it was covered in metal shavings. Probably has casting sand in it as well. I will have to figure out how to give this a good cleaning before install.

Always good to check out. So far i haven't seen any with the exception of some dust from the cardboard box. the oem's there to catch the initial pieces if there are any.
