we have a 2004 lb7 and ever since day one we have had exhaust smells in the cab almost all the time, with windows down and stopped. doesn't matter for how long, at stop light, stop signs, just starting it up and backing out of the drive way.
it was hard for me to believe the wind was blowing it in the windows that often. i will need to check into this.

thanks

the whistle is the seal between the heater case and the fire wall. had quite a few of these doing that seems to be only d max's do it. its a sucky job too the whole dash has to come out to fix it. it will go away if you push the heater box toward the fire wall. but I havent found any good way to fix it with out total teardown. as far as the fume smell I havent heard anything yet.

Hmmmm...this is interesting...I bought a "new to me" '05 this past fall...it had already cooled down here in NE Ohio so I never had the fan or A/C on in the truck for quite a while...I replaced the stock exhaust with a MBRP exhaust about the same time it started getting cold enough to run the heater...that is when I first started smelling diesel fumes in the cab...I have been knocking myself out trying to find what I thought must be an exhaust leak at one of the slip joints in the MBRP system...only really notice it when I go out to the truck after it warming up for a couple of minutes on with the fan running full blast...

now I am thinking it has nothing to do with the MBRP exhaust I put on...any more info on this would be great...
