My '01 has all the symptoms of bad injectors. Smoking at idle, something terrible. Fuel milage is around 10 to the gallon. Lost power at highway speeds. Oil too full. The problem is that the dealers (I've been to three of them) will not fix it. From the start they tell me " well just because of those sypmtoms, it isn't always injectors". Well I took it in and was charged for a fuel system check and they told me my dirty air filter was the culprit. $70.00. After cleaning my cold air intake filter, it smoked just as bad as ever. I know that it is the injectors, how do I get them to fix my truck?Censored

Also these codes are what I pulled P0234 P0463 U1000

What did they say about "oil too full"? Did they think there was fuel in the oil?

Do the "Paper Towel" test on the oil. Put a drop on a clean paper towel. Let it sit a few minutes. If the oil spot just kind of soaks in, and a larger "wet" area appears around it, you have diesel in the oil.

You may have to pay someone for an hour of diagnostic time to test injector balance, fuel pressure, etc. If injectors are found to be bad, then GM is supposed to pick up the tab for diagnostic and replacement.

Thanks for the posts. I has my oil cahnged two days before taking it to the dealer so they wouldn't give me any feedback on the oil being to full. Does any one know what these codes mean? I pulled these codes the night before thay did thier diagnostic on the truck and pulled p0234 p0463 u1000 They then only admited that the first one came up when I paid for the diagnostic.

run to another dealer

po234 sets when the ECM sees boost pressures too high
p0463 set when the fuel level signal reads too high
u1000 is a genreal lost communication code
None are associated with injector failure.

are you able to pull the balance rates of the injectors? that will be a key in determining if your injectors are bad.

as far as your codes go, looking at what they are saying, try taking the hypertech out of the equation and see what happens. But I may be off base here.

And that's the reason why right there. Unless (most dealers) you have the correct diagnostic failure ,according to GM,they will not touch it.

You might need to massage your dealer with some current TSB's.Be nice, hope for the best ;)

At least you have it on record
