I have a bobcat with a v2203 diesel. I got it from someone that used starting fluid and blew a hole in the #1 piston...
I rebuilt the motor and have been running it but it has been smoking since the rebuild. I was hoping it would clear up but thats not the case.
It seems as though there is fuel in the crankcase. I replaced the injectors....no luck
I took it down to bobcat to have the injector pump looked at b/c I didnt want to toss a $800.00 dart at it. They say the injector pump is fine.
They tested the compression and said that #1 is low. He is telling me he has seen the rings not seat on these before which could be causing my problem? I am going to bring it home and see what I can do about it here vs. paying them to tear it apart again.
Anyone had any experience with these motors and the rings not seating? Any tips/tricks/etc?
Thanks
