My tailgate is loose when closed also hard to open when you pull the handle. Are there any adjustments that I can do?

I don't know of any adjustments but there should be rubber pads on the tailgate above the latches. When those are missing the gate is loose when shut.

When I hose clamped my tailgate hinges I noticed that there are several adjustments that can be made with the hinge mounts.
