Well tonight on myway home my truck got really loud but sounded pretty good but i knew it wasnt right so i stopped checked it out and realized my pipe broke off at the flare on the down pipe i drove it home (dont think it will hurt anything it was about 10 miles from the time it broke) will it hurt anything to weld a 90 angle to the down pipe until i can afford my 4 in straight pipe and new dp

It wonīt cause any mechanical damage. Itīs probably going to leave a mess of soot where itīs leaking. But most important is the risk of getting exhaust fumes in the cab.

It won't hurt as long as the heat from the exhaust isn't blowing on anything like wires, trans cooler lines, fuel lines etc...
I've seen many transmission harness's burnt up due to exhaust leaks that ended in a rebuild because they continued to drive while the unit was in default.
