Hello, this is probably a simple question, but I have bought my first diesel. It is a 2002 powerstroke 7.3L . I need to know what kind of oil to use and how often to change it. Thanks for any help

Many oils to choose from as long as it's diesel rated to the current spec's. I would recommend sampling the oil on a regular basis to forsee any wear problem early enough to correct before any damage is done. Sample kits are available from a few companies like Blackstone and Titan Oil.

I use Delo during my breakin process on my race and towing motors and then switch to Schaeffers http://www.schaefferoil.com/products/motor.html (#700 Supreme 7000 15W-40) with an oil change about every 5k miles. I also use Titan oil for samples at $9 a pop and I can check everything online @ http://www.titanlab.com/
