For those who have never seen this type of image...

It's what the engine looks like on a computer after being digitally designed. Just about everything made today is done this way before it gets built.

Hey Hoot can you get me a copy of the file? I'll load it up at work and see if I can fix our problemshttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif. Looking at the valve covers all I can think of is "LEAK". Do you think the valve covers would be a retrofit possibility? I'll be a lot of people would pay for that. Wait a minute maybe that's what they have in mind!!

Cool, I see what they did, very smart and simple solution to our problems. Re-routed the thingy and changed the whatcamacallit and re-designed the BIF valve, plus improved the Post Panamax clearance.

Overall big improvements (hopefully) LOL ha ha ha

PS = satire pure and simple, I don't have a clue!

They changed the heads somewhat also so just changing the covers won't do anything for you.

They eliminated the injector "cups" entirely. The injector nozzles now seal directly inside the head at the combustion chamber.

Wickedsprint

so now you have a quasi wear item right against the head, can that be bad?

They will probably have a retrofit kit available to change the heads, injectors and the fuel plumbing. MSRP $12,000.

I hear the guy who designed the original heads works for Navistar now.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Must be runnin Firestones

I don't know what the problem is. I can read it on two different computers in two different places. I guess it's not IE compliant.

I run Netscape...... the other browser. I do not know what to do the make it run on IE... maybe sdaver might have a tip.. he's pretty good with computers and boxes and such http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/HiHi.gif Edited by: hoot

IE 6.0 (even w/ service pack 1) has some serious issues. Hopefully service pack 2 will make it a lot better once it is released.

Try explaining to a customer that *your* web app is not the problem -- not fun. http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Cry.gif

It still crashes my IE, ah well. On a serious note, is a retrofit even possible? I know the ECM would have to be changed, along with other components, but for an owner out of warranty, looking at his 2nd or 3rd injector replacementhttp://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Throw Up.gif costing ridiculous amounts of out of pocket money.... throwing good money after bad... I think in a case with someone needing to get 2 - 300k out of thier truck.. it may make sense. Just my .02.

By the way, real funny on the Dodge_Lost. I was ready to head to the armory and load up. Was gonna take me a trip....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gifEdited by: VFRRider

Back to the head change, looks great. Only thing I dont like about the change is the turbo with the varabile veins. A major engine mfg. tried this in the natural gas industry, worked real good untill one of the veins broke and you can imagine what happened, they played with it and finally gave up. Probaly break about warranty run out time.

Hoot, I didn't have any trouble w/ your page.

I'm running IE 6 too.

Since it is a power point presentation do the ones having trouble have power point?

I like the last line,

So what is a SIGNIFICANT INCREASE IN ENGINE OUTPUT ?

10 HORSE POWER ?

Thanks for hosting the Duramax Power Point pitch! (no problem reading it here with IE 5.5).
Very interesting… Looks like two major drivers for the change…

Its gag joke thing, I got virus alert to. You notice that the last 1% of the file is missing; I think Hoot substituted some kind of “script” that causes the virus scan to trip.http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

I'm curious if the problem might be associated with who does or does not have Power Point loaded on their computer with Office?

The link works fine on my 'puter running IE 6 and Win98SE, but it also has Microsoft Office installed with Power Point. I tried to show it to my dealer who's computers run XP with IE 6, but not MS Office and it would not play. Didn't crash the thing but locked it up, fortunatly I still remember how to get to the Task Manager.......http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Confused.gif

Netscape is great. I've been using it for a good year now. It takes a while to make good software perform if you don't know what's available. I have very few issue with it. I like tabbed browsing and the speed. I love not using MS software.... I hate AOL guess I'm just a rebel

Hey Hoot,

Not sure what the deal is with some other computers, but I just converted this Win2k over to XP Pro, actually it's a fresh install, but the Power Point presentation went without a hitch.

Really confusing since my dealer's computer with XP wouldn't run it either..... Gremlins me thinks.....http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/smileys/Evil Smile.gif

Don't know when it became a forum, I'm relatively new here.

New Duramax, also known as the LLY engine, as quoted by GM:

310 HP, 590 ft.lbs. torque.
