Well by the looks of it GM has their hands full with this bad injector problem - is this an official recall?

What are the probabilities you'll have injector failure? At what mileage do these buggers start passing out???

anything from mile 1 - mile 9999999999999 i will let someone else comment on weather or not it was an official recall. there is a post on here about all that have had the injectors replaced or had problems with them.

this is not a new problem, the injector issues has been around since early LB7 days and is still around with the LLY. Official recall? I doubt it.. they only replace the isolated failed injector anyways and GM is making the parts very hard to come by. You have to have a valid issue in order to have them replaced. GM won't even send them to the dealers to stock unless the issue/failure is approved by GM first. My diesel machanic said GM is working on a new type of injector that is supposed to fix all the issues, but who knows when that will become official.

Interesting. As Bosch makes the current injectors, I had not heard that GM was working on a new design on their own.

I'm at 41,000 km and am taking it in for a second time for this issue. Was sorta hoping that I would read that they have solved this problem by improving the injector. Maybe by the time it goes off warranty?

That is what the diesel mechanic told me..whether its true or not I have no way to verify. He told me when you has to call GM to request injectors that one of the people told him its in the works. Other than that I don't know.

What are the symptoms of a bad injector? A Miss, smoke, what?
