:help:
I have an 01 Dodge Diesel I recently purchased . I've ordered an AFE stage 2 Pro guard 7 intake an am considering upgrading the exhaust to take advantage of the intake. In my old gas truck I put in a K&N and a cat back system using a Raven muffler and was very impressed with the performance, although it was a little noiser than i would have liked... I'm looking to see if I can get the same change in my new diesel. The problem is this diesel is already to loud!!! I have no desire to make it louder or create any irritating sounds.

Can someone give me some recommendations on which system(s) I should install? I’m not sure if there is a catalytic converter on a diesel... but i don't see anyone talking about installing a cat back system, everyone seems to be going turbo back. I also don't see much on resonators, which I understand will help quiet things down.

To keep it as quiet as possible while installing something to take advantage of the intake I purchased, should I upgrade the muffler, go cat back, or go turbo back? I would like to keep it factory looking so don’t care about it being made out of stainless or adding a large tip unless it will help with the performance or reduce the noise.

The Aero Turbine 4” muffler with resonator is the only performance muffler I’ve seen that discusses a resonator… but I can’t find if that would solve my sound issue or not. I’m also not sure if the resonator should be located in the muffler or somewhere else.

The person I purchased the air intake from recommends I go with a MBRP 4 inch system and add on resonator, he says that will give me performance with a quiet truck. # S6100AL-Aluminized Turbo-back for $358.00, High volume resonator $110.00. He said to buy a resonator made by “Donalson, DPPI, or MBRP, all of the upper end
products work great”.

Any help would be very much appreciated. Thanks!!!!
