I think I need a D-max van to haul the dogs around , I didn't know they put one in a van . What year did they start , witch tranny (ally, I hope ) . Any info would help ( good price , etc. )

2006 was the first year. Trans is a 4l85e.

Thanks for the input , I don't know anything about those trannies (any good ) are the vans 2 wd only ? What is a good price for a low mile used van , sounds like you have a good insite to these vans.

The trans is very good. Quigley does 4x4 conversions for GM. I bought mine new in May 2007 for 25k. I think there has been some good deals for around 15k with under 50,000 miles on them.

I was quoted $35,000 for a Quigley 4 wheel drive , paid $26,000 for mine 2wheel , June 06 .

Thanks for your input , 4x4 would be nice . We get some freez'n rain that 4x4 helps driven in . I'm think'n about a van so I can make Bio and use it in both D-MAX'S . I won't go back to a gasser (truck ) .

I think most people assume if it has a Duramax diesel it has an allison trans.
