bowtie65 02-27-2005, 10:26 AM aquired a heath chip from my bud who sold his truck. here is the problem. i would like to try his chip in my truck. his is the same year as mine only he had a manual tranny and i have an automatic. does anyone know if it will work or if i can get truck to learn the new program? gmctd 02-27-2005, 10:54 AM It will not work in your PCM - the manual transmission chip does not have required 4L80E programming to address the 4L80E functions in your PCM. I use the manual-only chip in my '95 K3500 PCM, and have a spare '95 K3500 PCM from a 4L80E truck - should be same OBDI PCM, just different program, right? No way, Jose! Plugged the manual chp into the spare auto PCM for testing, got all the 4L80E DTC's, not clearable. Not even clearable!
