thats the first that ive heard of a glow plug that takes less time to glow and also gets hotter......i thought the dual elements glowed slower and hotter??

i guess i bought the ac delco from local parts store....dual element for $10 each and no shipping.....it was the 60 something that i got...is it 60g??

those plugs are junk. ssdiesel used to sell them. they'll work great for about 6 months then they'll swell and fail. ssdiesel would warranty 2 glow plugs then say it was your truck at fault if any others failed. go with 60Gs or bosch duraterms. i'm guessing the GPs for the 6.5 and 6.2 are the same so i'd say the bosch ones will fit. bosch part number 80034.

also the listing is wrong. at first there was the 9G plug which had swelling problems. they came the 11G which did not have swelling problems. both the 9G and 11G are not self-limiting plugs so they would burn out with extended glow times. the 60G came out to replace both the 9G and the 11G plugs and are self-limiting so they don't burn out with extended glow time.

Haha, the SS Diesel plugs. Look at my sig.

We put them in at the end of last Spring, so they really never saw any use until the beginning of Winter. Well, at first it started awesome, better than I could have ever imagined, for a month anyways. As winter started comming down hard, I think my plugs started crapping, as starting got harder, and harder as Winter went on. Then started getting easier and easier as it warmed up out.

Also, if it's possible, you may want to consider taking that link out.

I have had my 60G plugs in for all most 2 years, they all still work as of last time I changed my oil (a few weeks ago).
You cant go wrong with a manual switch and 60G plugs, or even autolite 1110 plugs arn't that bad.
I had 1110's in for about a year but thought they were failing because truck was getting harder and harder to start (it turned out to be an inward air leak when the truck sat for more then a day).
60G's are in and I cant complane.
You want to know whats good about 20 year old technology, it cheap to replace and easy to work on.

Is it just me, or are the tips on the ebay plugs somewhat longer than the tips on G60s and 1110s?

Diaric, if you need glow plugs for cheap, I have a set of 1110s (I think) I replaced with G60s. I haven't tested them, but I was still able to start the truck with them at around freezing, and none of them was swollen. PM me if you're interested.

The G60s (60Gs?) are probably a good choice because many ppl seem to have them and to be happy with them. Other plugs may be faster, but it doesn't matter to me if I have to count to 9 to glow or to 14 :) To me, it's more important that they do work. However, I installed them only about 1/2 year ago, and it's warm here, so I can't say much before January or so.

But if you go for the 60s, you can't do anything wrong. Why not use something others seem to have good experience with? :)

60Gs are a safe bet. Like any other auto part it doesn't last forever, but from the choices available I think the 60Gs are the best choice. I run them on my engine...
