Is there a Vendor or person that carries Aquapel here? I'm out and can buy it here but thought I'd try the board first.

Burner have you tried rainx too? Just wondering because I've always used rainx since I've never heard of aquapel. Does it work any better or last longer?

##soapbox on
I have found rainx to not work quite as well initially - but worse - i have found it to Gum up after a couple months and a few thousand miles. The Aquapel does not gum up over time. By "gum up", i don't mean literally - but eventually all the road chilli just seems to smear on the windshield... til you dry it, clean it and reapply the rainx.

Aquapel is expensive - but well worth it - whether it's snow or rain you are dealing with.

The last time I applied Aquapel was August 18th of 2004..... and it's still there, still working. I reapplied some yesterday to the Denali, Youkon XL and the Duramax. It will last at least 3 or 4 months before I need to use it again. I like it because it is made by PPG (the folks that make the glass) it is absorbed into the glass, it doesn't leave those horrible streaks like rain-x, it isn't wax, you "can" use your wipers without fear of disturbing the stuff, wiper fluid won't really take it off or dull it, it keeps the bugs from sticking and it saves me time. Heck, I've hit it with a steam pressure washer and it really didn't affect it. I now have no rain-x..... and never will as long as this stuff is around.

So yeah, I really like Aquapel.:thumb:

That's about as good as a product review gets, looks like I'm looking for some now too :D

What Burner said.:D :D :D

I find scraping ice off the treated glass is far easier than the untreated glass as well. Seems with Rain-x the opposite may have been true?

BTW......there was enough product in the applicator to do the windshield and both front side windows.

Yes there was...but "just enough" to do the job. .....This is only my second time to apply, first time in simi-cold weather. It does not seem to absorb quite as fast in the cold or on previously treated glass. The Denali has never seen the stuff and it wicked the Aquapel up pretty well but the Burb and Max were quite slow about it. I guess the first application was still pretty evident in the glass?
