As part of our ongoing travels with our RV since retiring, we again find ourselves too far from our home dealer and in need of some regularly scheduled service. At present we're in Las Cruces, NM and in need of a 25,000 mile service. In the past, there have been members who have shared their experiences with reputable dealers with well-trained service techs, so I thought I would come back to the well again seeking some recommendations. I know there is a dealer in town and two others in El Paso, TX. Anyone have any good experiences with any of these or any others within 100 miles of Las Cruces??? All suggestions appreciated!

How far are you from Hobbs, NM? I don't like Watson Chevrolet but Jim Spence GMC seems to be a good dealer. But I've never dealt with them on the Duramax. The 2 GMC's we have with the Duramax have not been to the shop.
When I took my truck to Watson to get the high idle adjusted they looked at me like I was an idiot. (I know I am but that's neither here nor there):h)
The Denver City, Texas dealer took over 2 months to replace all 8 injectors on my neighbors Duramax. He got so POed he sold both his DMaxes and now runs F#rds.

Thanks, Dutch, for your thoughts on that dealer in Hobbs. Unfortunately, Hobbs is a little over 250 miles from where we are at the moment and our mapping program tells me it will take over 5 hours to get there. I do appreciate your suggestion, however. Thanks again.

You could try Rudolph Chevrolet in ELP. I don't know how they are on diesels, but the Service Dept staff has been the same forever. See Mickey (advisor) he's a good guy.

The El Paso Chevy dealer is a possibility, but I was hoping for a recommendation of a dealer with whom a member had some knowledge of their diesel expertise. If I were going to go to a dealer blind and without any prior knowledge of their tech's training and experience, I would just go 5 minutes away to the Las Cruces GMC dealer. Thanks for the thought.
Traveling around touring the country is great fun, but trying to get service from a reputable dealer with well trained techs is not as easy as I thought it would be! I hate going to someone without any prior information on their track record. We're leaving this area in about ten days and will be on the move again. Any other recommendations before I take a chance on the local guys?
