Seems like lately almost every stop light I pull off from my fan on my truck is making that really loud wind/roaring noise really loud. Is it going out?

normal.

they move a rediculous amount of air, and as a result, are rediculously loud.

If you want to fix GM's error with the LLY or tow heavy you should think about the V2 from TxC. Install and say bye to fan noise and high temps.

Read post #13 here http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/showthread.php?t=254969. Fan clutch engagement during initial warmup period is normal and not a "sickness".

Yeah... well... true. I guess if you're hoping to kill the sucker some day, it can be described as a "sickness", though this is indeed behaving as designed. I stand corrected...

Like the loud fan, it scares the cat and keeps it from crawling into the engine compartment.

Mine still has a little mild morning sickness once in a while.
Never during the hot days empty, and only a little at the top of the mountain towing very heavy at 11k feet in 80-90 OAT on a 5-7% long grade, thanks to the V2 and TxC!!!!!!!!!!!
