Hey guys. Buying a 1994 K2500, long bed, ext. cab, 115k miles tomorrow. Did some research on this site first. It belongs to my fiancee's dad(owned since new). He replaced the IP last year. Truck is in great shape. It comes with a 94 Caribou 11.5 cabover camper.
Hopefully I'll not be disappointed. Wasn't interested several months back, because I've never owned a diesel and had heard unfavorable things on the 6.5. But the price was too good to pass up. Besides my old 78 3/4 ton 4X4 needs a clutch and can't fit my fiancee and her 2 kids in it. We must go camping this summer. Figured this rig would do us fine.
Will be back...

The mileage quote was incorrect. It is actually 182k miles. Well taken care of though. This is an excellent site with an enourmous amount of information that is giving me brain overload. I'm going to get some gauges for this thing. An engine that functions as this does should be monitored in my opinion. I work on airplanes so I'm used to alot of gauges.

Why no intercooler for these turbo diesels?

Brett go to the 6.5TD section and do some reading of the stickies. You can learn alot by just reading about these trucks.
They dont have intercoolers because they are set at a very low boost, which in turn does not produce all the heat that a higher boost would. You can turn up the boost and put an intercooler on the truck but, it is alot of work.
This site is one of the best for a 6.5TD truck owner. Welcome and enjoy your new truck!
