Thinking of buying a used bully dog programmer for $250. Says it will work on all 3 diesel brands. Went back to stock 245's and speedo is off. Can I use it to correct this? Will it increase mpg's? Or is it just hocus pocus?

I have the Bully Dog PMT and I am seeing the best increase, 5-6 mpg over stock, when I am on the highway with the chip on performance doing 70 on the cruise control. I know the PMT reprograms for tire size, not sure on the others.

Bully Dog stuff is good. Just make sure that the guy you're buying it from, didn't leave the program in his truck.

I have an 01. Why wont it work? It must of been changed before because it was right on w/ my 265's. Now that I went back to 245's it is off. I didnt buy it new so I dont know for sure. Thanks guys.

I had the Power Pup, I see you have the Triple Dog so it might be different. But I thought it was the computer in the 01 that wouldn't let you. Also, my speedo is dead on with the 265's. You will read alot (use search feature at the top) that many trucks are off with stock 245's.

I would say if it was changed once, then you'll be able to change it again, good luck!

I got stuck with a triple dog. I got it from a friend who wrecked his truck, when his truck went, so did the program, so I have this programmer that I cant use. Anyone know how to restore it?

It'll changes tire size on the 01's, but it won't remove the speed limiter

I think the only way to get it back is to go through bully dog.

It readjusts for tire size and corrects the speed, but only on the PMT itself i think. If I am correct the stock speedo will still be off, but the PMT will be on target. If I am incorrect please feel free to correct me. I dont want to put any wrong info out.
