yes they do rule. I just installed my 4" straight with no cat or muffler. It sounds good. It would be nice to have it a little louder like the LB7's though.

maybe its just because its been so long since I ve had my Lb7 but when I really get into the go peddle I think the LBZ might have a louder spiked sound. But like I said its been awhile since I had my Lb7.Either way they all(durdys sound great).Cant wait to get a tune on it and see how that sounds.:D

Mine codes every now and then when I tow heavy. Hank how can you want louder? When you get on it you can't even talk in the cab. At WOT with a heavy load it is stupid loud. I see people cringing when I pass them on the hills.:D

bo799, well, it would be nice to have a little louder (rumble) at idle instead of so much whooooshing. You're right, it is pretty loud at WOT though. I just compare mine to my dad's LB7 with a 4" banks with muffler and his is louder throughout the entire range.
BTW, I have not thrown a code yet and I have a cali. truck but then again I haven't towed anything yet.

Yea it is like a vacuum cleaner on crack. I have a banks muffler too. I just have not had time to try it yet. It is in the plan soon though.

with EFI Live you can change the turbo vane position at idle and get more of the rumble too. I have been messing with that this week.

i straight piped my LB7 a while back and it sounds sweet but not really all that loud, def louder than the VVT trucks but no where near as loud as a straight piped gasser.

oh, and if you want it louder, get rid of the cat, that really opens it up.

What he said... Just FYI, I posted my modified stock LLY tune in the repository with the vanes open at idle. You could use the same changes for LLY, LBZ and LMM to get the rumble at idle.
