I just got the predator and was thinkin about spendin the $125 on transmission insurance is the trans go a do it yourself or would i have to take it to a transmission shop and how much would it set me back. Also whats the best transmission fluid to put in it.
Absolutely a DIY on the Transgo Jr, if I did it a chimp can do it.
No insult to the chimp intended!:rotflmao:
As far as fluid, Transynd if can stand shelling out the $$$$$$$$$.

I did my Transgo Jr. about 2 weeks ago and went very smoothly. I love the way the shifts feel (solid and quick but not harsh). From what I've seen, Transynd is the way to go. I'm running the Amsoil version.

Being a geek and not a grease monkey, what should be a fair price to have the Transgo installed?

Not sure what a good deal would on this. A local diesel shop up here was asking for $200 + parts/fluid.

Thnx for the feed back. Guess I need to find out what is all involved and talk with my local shop and see what they would charge. Have any idea what all is involved?

Dropping the valve body out of the trans, taking the 2 halves of it apart, pulling out 2 valves, putting in 2 new valves, drilling 2 holes in the separator plate between the valve body halves and putting it all back in.
