Today I installed the Eclipse AVN6620........seems like a nice unit.....also have an Edge Insight, which I had installed a couple of days ago, but had taken out, to change my location. I start out by installing the DVD/NAv system, including grounding the parking brake wire (for DVD playback) and hooked up the VSS wire to the PINK wire on the back of the cluster....(hope that was the right wire).....did not hook up the green reverse wire, because I wasn't sure where on the truck it was located. OK, got the dash all buttoned up and made some music......sounds fine........started truck and got a check engine light.......ok, I'll plug the Insight in and see what's up.......as soon as I plug the Insight to the OBDII port, I get a Service Brake System warning on the dash, along with the ABS and Brake lights.......Insight says it can not find VIN.....I unplug it, the warnings and brake lights go off......still have the check engine light on though......plug Insight back up.........can't find VIN........and CAN communication error. It will not come back up.........any thoughts on what has happened here?

Hmmmmmmmm..well, after doing some much needed reading on here, I think I hit the wrong wire........I could have sworn that I read on here, that the VSS was the pink wire and the green was for reverse.......anyways, I took the wire off the PINK wire and I still have the CEL and the Insight still won't work with me, so I guess I'm off to get somebody to clear these codes, if they will and I'm going to tap into the green and white wire for the VSS, or so 99% say on here..........

The reverse wire is located at the BCM, under the steering column. It's the farthest right hand 3-wire harness and the wire is green. Check this with a mult-meter first to make sure you've got the correct wire.

I think the VSS is behind the cluster and is pink. It's been said on here many times, but I can't remember at this moment.
