Just throwing out a poll To see what the majority of us are using to protect our prized engines. If what you are using isn't listed then just post a reply.

Whatever is at the quick change oil place. I've never blown a motor up because of BAD oil, only NO oil!

John Deere plus 50, they say it will go 50% more hours than the recomended oil change time. Use it in all the tractors, seems to be good stuff. Just changed it in the 8100 and 4250 today at almost 300 hours. Still not as black as the crap cenex oil was at 100 hours.

always run rotella in all of our diesel stuff ...i think it is one of the best oils out there... might have to try the deere plus 50 though because our dozers are alway black as coal when we drain it.....heck after about a day you can't even tell ya changed the stuff ... might have to see.....but always had good luck with the rotella t or the 15 40 with the heavy duty dirt guard or whatever it is called.

Same same. As soon as I us the 'free oil change' from the dealer, it's Amsoil from punkin to pushrods.

Amsoil 15-40 right now. Going to try amsoil series 3000 5-30 Heavy Duty Diesel.
Amsoil claims better protection than 40 with better mileage.

Has anybody heard of LE Lubrication Engineers ? My buddy is a rep for them and is trying to get me to use it. It's a dyno oil but he "claims" it's better than a syn.

Costco Delo 400. Worked fine in my Cummins for 150k+ per Blackstone Labs, and doesn't stink like Rotella.

what do you know about CenPeCo oil? I've been thinking about running it. And I use only Wix oil filters.

It's supposed to be good stuff, more film strength, slicker, better resistance to high temps., more additives, etc.......
Check out their website http://www.cenpeco.com/ and click on OILS.
We have been using it in our loader, oil seems to stay clearer longer. Gonna get a sample tested pretty soon.

Later,

Wheatfield.

Mack Truck's Bulldog EO-N Premium Plus 15w40. It's formulated specially for their EGR engines. Good enough for the Bulldog and good enough for my Duramax.

Mack's building engines now?
They have for a long time. They build almost everything on their own. Frames, engines, trannies, rearends, etc. You can get them with the other equipment, Eaton, etc. but primarily they do all their own stuff.
