I think I know what the problem is but have no clue as to how to fix it/procedure.
I was changing out my T-stat and had to move the "T" that controls the (I guess the water from fuel) water from fuel. I tried to trace the rubber hose as far as I could and it seemed to be coming from the filter bowl and went under the intake. Is this a difficult fix and what parts do I need. I am new to the diesels game and am learning alot quickly. What do I need to remove and are these dealer parts or can I go the a local parts store to get what I need.
The hose at the bottom of the "T" has cracked and is lettin fuel go all over the engine and the ground and now the truck will not run for more than about 10 seconds.
Please give any advice that you can and it will all be appreciated.
Thank you,
Mark

I believe that is your fuel bleed valve. It allows you to bleed out the air when you change the fuel filter. Mine went bad also. My temp fix was to stick a large enough bolt in & clamp it so the diesel was halted. Yes you have to get under the manifold to change it, you can try to loosen the clamp & get the hose off, but it may be quite difficult to get it back on without taking off the manifold. For now just plug it & clamp it, till you can fix it correctly.

Thanks Tim, I'll do that. I think Akila has misunderstood what I mean't(or maybe I posted it wrong(not unlikely)). I have found a split in th hose that runs from the bottom of the "T" valve(bleeder) and that is where the fuel was pumping from(at least from where I could see, don't know if it was from another source as well)Will change fuel hose out tomorrow and try to hope for the best. Still trying to find out if any gaskets are needed when I pull the fuel filter bowl or not(or any clamps that may not be there now).
Thank you,
Mark

i know the t you are talking about. you use it to let the water out of the fuel and it mounts near the thermostat. id it the hose ot the t-valve that is cracked? if it is the hose, you can use any normal fuel line to replace it.
on my 95 suburban, i had a short hose on mine. I used to place a bottle on the end when draining to see if there was anything in and until it would clear.
i hope this might answer what you are asking. I know you can use any fuel line that will fit on it for it.

Hey guys,
Thanks for all of the input. It was the hose from the "T"(bleeder) valve going to the fuel filter bowl that was cracked which was not allowing the truck to stay running. I had managed to change that out as well as the OPS and all seems to be well. I will take the truck out on a longer run tomorrow to see if it is right and there are no leaks.
Thanks again,
Mark

Thanks for the input to all that supplied it,
All seems to be good so far, I'll know better by the end of the week after I have put a couple hundred miles on it and hopefully don't find any leaks.
I do have a smell of burning antifreeze but don't know if it is from run-off from changing the T-stat or if maybe I have a small leak somewhere.
Thanks again,
