More so for the Ontario guys but I know it applies all over. I'm picking up my new 1 ton on Monday. My GVWR on the truck is 5171kg which I believe means I need to get a yellow sticker and safety inspection. Correct? My main question was for anyone running the yellow sticker and what they rated their vehicle at and do you have a CVOR?

I'll jump in here. I've talked to the MTO guys and even they give different answers depending on the alignment of the stars and phases of the moon. I've had several friends given a hard time by the MTO on road side stops - guys with horse trailers, flat beds hauling hay, wood shavings - and questioned about expired or no inspection stickers. One guys was actually charged because the MTO guys 'thought' he looked overweight. He beat that one, but I get my trucks and trailers inspected and stickered every year, even my wife's Avalanche, because, well, just because. I've got a family member who does it for me, so I might not if I was paying full price......

No CVOR, private, not commercial, don't know anyone questioned about that even if they were commercial.

When I've taken delivery of a new truck, the dealer has always done the first 'sticker' free.

'64 Riv? Yes very cool! Enjoy your new truck!
