I'm going with a Diesel Performance Systems DPS1A-3. It's 24” long and is 3” OD pipe with the front end expanded to 3”ID to slip over a 3” OD pipe. The 3"ID will go over my three inch downpipe and this will generate the vertical offset to clear the crossmember.

After that, Air Flow Systems sells exhaust components and I'll be acquiring a very short 3"ID/3"OD adapter to create headspace to then sleeve a 3"ID/4"ID adapter against the flair. Busy as that was, it's cheap. I'll then go with a 4"OD stack - the length of which I've yet to determine - that I'll order big and cut down. All this will be followed with a 4"ID/4"OD 90 degree bend to exit it in front of the rear tire.

Under 200 dollars US I figure. I'll assemble and scribe it then remove it and have a buddy weld it all together.

When I can scrape up the cash in the budget, I'll put it together and photograph.

for my exhaust I bought a 10' piece of 4" od exhaust., a 45 degree bend and a 3" to 4" reducer, all totaling about $100. At home I jacked up the pick up, and reliezed 4" wont directly fit between the crossmembers and cab, so I had few beers :drinking:and then cut about two 3' pieces on a slight angle, tackwelded up and tacked 45 deg bend right about where the goes up to meet the box, then tacked about 2' more of pipe to exit infront of the rear tire and cut it on the same angle as the body lines. Then I removed all pieces and began welding with a little wire feed. the only thing that is clamped is the 3" to 4" reducer to the 3" downpipe, so i can remove it if needed. Sorry I dont have any pics up I cant find the cord to connect the camera to computer and for being soooo long.

For how cheap 3" DPs are not, you'd think nobody would be home making them.

So your spending more money and time then you would have if you just got a 4" system from Jardine @ $285 now...

I'm getting one soon, and a new Crossover which i intend to install when I install my SS oil cooler lines from Greg at Lube Specialists.

Yeah, but I'm part of the cobble-it-together-myself-and-take-a-modicum-of-pride-in-it community. A hundred bucks is a hundred bucks

I love it! I worked in an exhaust shop when I was a kid... I really liked working with the steel. There IS a feeling of pride when you can start with straight 10' sticks of pipe, and end up with something that starts at the manifold, contours to the various requirements of the vehicle's frame and undercarriage, and ends up in the right spot.

Building anything yourself gives you that; and it's something we all-too-often overlook in today's fast-food world.

Good for you.

That being said, if you don't have the time or tools, $285 is cheap like dirt. And I wouldn't try to build the crossover or downpipe; they're cheap and you want them mandrel-bent, so I strongly recommend getting the right ones.

I do have it done, and I have been wanting to get some pics up, but I have a new computer and am not able to downsize pictures by pixel dimensions. Any of you know of a good program to do so, one that you can just click on resize and type in 800x600 or whatevery size you want. My old computer had it, but this one does not.

Thanks, Jacob

I used to use microsoft paint and just shrink it by percentage until you get where you want. It's under "tools" and then "stretch/skew"

Irfanview. Best thing since photoshop, and it's 100% free.

Ya you can, it wasn't that bad. All in all I probably had a day or so into it, but I was very fussy and had to do quite a bit of welding to get the pipes together and such. It can deffinatly be done in less time, but you should be all set if you do decide to try, just take your time and it will go fine.

I'm going to Ace hardware tomorrow morning to get the supplies, only i think i can get away with 4" cellular core pvc and skip the stacks. The way i look at it i can do it for under $30.:D
