Wondering if anyone else out there running a laptop constantly has this issue...
I have EFILive V2 and have my laptop mounted in my truck 24/7. 99% of the time i keep the EFILive Scantool window open and monitoring real time data. My laptop charger is hardwired to the battery with a relay on the ignition. When i shut my truck off, the laptop just goes into sleep mode. If i get back to it before it goes into sleep mode or turn it on before i start the truck, EFILive is still holding the monitoring position and the engine and/or ignition position being started or stopped does not inturrpt it (even in sleep mode).
Once in a while, as frequently as twice a week or as seldom as once every 2 months (i drive the truck daily), I'll go to start the truck and it will die immediately after starting. If i try to start it back up right away, no dice. i have to wait at least 5-10 seconds. Ive tried disconnecting the cable, cycling the ignition etc. to get it to start right back up, but nevertheless the only fix is waiting 5 to 10 seconds and it fires up, just like normal. Its also never happened to me twice in a row.
This happened to me when i had a single turn setup and currently with the DSP5.
With it in monitoring mode i currently have about 18 PIDS on. Is that asking a lot of the computer while its constantly running everything else in the truck?
I love having all the gauges and real time data. I dont think i would give that up even if their was no fix, its just a bit aggravating and strange.
Thanks in advance for any input-
