Have you guys ever messed around with turbo timers. I'm just wondering if unit will work on diesel application. For those who don't know, this unit allows truck to continue to run after shut off. It's electronic and obiviously has to be wired into ignition and has a set time that truck will continue to run with key not in ignition. There are saftey precautions that don't allow car to be driven like break swithches that will kill engine if attempt to get out of park. I have on my other turbo car. But I don't know if diesel set will allow this to happen. Does anybody know?

Not really necessary on modern turbos from what I've read, basically if you allow for a short cooldown at idle after a hard tow or hard running and keep up with oil changes you will be fine, normal driving really does not put you in region to be concerned overkill IMO add it if you want. What I do when I park is once I see EGT start decreasing trend during idle I shutdown, If I have been running very hard or it's been hot outside I shutdown after cooldown to below 300 EGT.

I thought I read a post on here in a previous thread that not cooling down turbo was the main reason for turbo failure.

Now for a gasser it might have some validity I'd shoot Banks an email to see what they say, you asked about a Diesel.
This is my point to things about cams and other stuff that works on gassers, there may be benefits to these things, not being close mined at all to new concepts, I just don't have funds to waste on something that nets marginal gain involving a lot of work or puts my engine at risk, I go with accepted logic and rely on recommendations of subject experts. You get all sorts of goofy stuff from the web, heck some say I'm goofy probably, I do try to quantify and preface any of my recommendations by historical fact /experience of others, my own successful long term results or defer to subject mattter experts like the Banks link I sent you to.
Wildcatting is fine, but you have to be prepared for & anticipate failure and have some sort of recovery and risk abatement plan.
