I read a while back that MBRB was changing to band clamps. Are they going to offer a band clamp upgrade? :)

They did for a while, now Im told they are going back to the saddle style clamp due to the band style not clamping tight enough.

I bought band clamps from jegs for my exhaust, they are WAY easier to deal with than the wire clamps. I forget how many i bought.

right now they are staying w/ the band clamps but there is talk about them switching back or finding different band clamps.

they will be doing away w/ the band clamps in about a month and a half. but they will have an option for them at a later date.

I just went to the local O'reilly's and picked up a couple for about $7 each to do my Banks monster exhaust. I don't really like the wire type clamps.
Torqued them down to about 20 ft/lbs or so. Havn't had a single leak or problem yet.

You are supposed to do about 60ftlbs :D

Actually it was 35 ft/lbs is what I torqued it to and that was according to the install manual.

Hmm we must have different clamps.

Here is my setup, I used the wire clamps with that had hangers only.

that's pretty much the same thing I'm using. The torque spec was from the banks install instructions. And no leaks so far as I can tell.

i loved my band clamps on my duals. no leaks yet and still nice and tight. i hope they don't go back to the old style

Hey there Honda what size are the duals and what kind of band clamps did you use??? Where they the U-shaped clamps or the sleeve clamps???

those are the same ones i used. got them from O'rielly's. about 8 bucks. they are working well and look a lot better.

I guess you would call them sleeve. they are not the u bolt style. they are the new ones in the mbrp kits. i have 4" duals.

Thanks, they come with the Dual MBRP exhaust kit or would I have to purchase them at the local auto parts store... That exhaust looks nice I can picture my truck looking like that. One last thing, how much did u pay for the duals???

They come with the kit. Its the 6006409 kit. it also comes with t5051 tips, but i bought the T5053 ones. pm me for more info.
