I have seen the 300 horse marine 6.5's available and been following the Westers garage 92mm fuel pump, and I am now near a stopping point. My engine is running great and I'm planning on trying the cam that QM is installing when my engine comes due for a rebuild. Kennedy injectors and custom intercooler are in the near future list. Possibly a ball bearing turbo or twin but right now air is not my limiter its fuel. Somebody out there has the answers I seek. Team Hummer is getting almost 500 horse from there 6.5. Heath has a 550+ horse 6.2, Kennedy has had his fair share of heavy hitting 6.5's. Where is the fuel for these power levels comming from. Do I have to go to a mechanical pump? Air + Fuel = Power Lack of air is easily fixed with the wide variety of turbos available, so I keep ending up at the same problem. Please Help!!!

300 HP sounds sweet. I'd sure like to get a DS-4 with that output.

All the HP would be sweet but can the tranny and everything else handle it? Or would everything have to be replcaed down the road?

I think performance modifying is like that. You make the engine stronger and eventually you have to up everything else as or before it wears out.

So to make it worth it he would have to upgrade everything from the engine back.

Lets hear it for Deep Pockets.

Got a link to team Hummer we should be asking them the question directly instead of 2nd guessing what they did.

Using google I found many pages of information on team hummer but not their website. Anyhow I did find a custom built half-million dollar 1997 H1 with a 6.5 bored over to 7.3liters producing 1000HP and 2500ft/lbs (read that again, it's not a typo).

As to how well the rest of the drivetrain can handle the power, all I can say is "I Don't Care" I will replace and upgrade the weak links as they give out.

No one can tell me that the 4L80-E can not be built to handle power. Hundreds of 1000+HP race cars rely on them every day, anyone can go to the track and see for themselves.

I'm building my truck to run 44"boggers "HARD" not a show truck. I'm starting at the engine and working my way back: Tranny, Transfer-case, driveshafts, and one-ton axles(already sitting in the garage).:evillol:
