: 2003 DMAX with 8 new at 30K..got warranty extension
CS-Dmax 02-24-2005, 08:43 PM Hi all,
Just thought I would share....have 03 D/A, all 8 replaced at 30,000 miles due to hard start condition. I was ticked, so I called up GM and b****** at them about having to do all 8 on this truck, and why has the warranty not been extended on the 03's when GM did it for the 01 and 02 model years. Anyway, they agreed to extend the warranty on the injectors to 150,000 miles/7 years. I got a component letter in the mail a couple of weeks later spelling it out. To all you 03 guys out there, call up GM and complain LOUDLY!!!! We need to get GM to include the 03s in the 200K extension, and I think the way to help the process is for all 03 owners that have had injector replacements to let them know how unhappy we are with the situation.

tom688 02-25-2005, 11:29 AM All injectors in my 03 were just replaced with 35,000 miles - smoke, rough idle, fuel in oil. The stealer told me that the 03's now had 7 year / 200,000 on injectors and he put it in writing on the work order when I asked him for written confirmation. He told me that this had recently been implemented from the factory. I'm concerned he may be confused with the 01's and 02's, but since he put it in writing, I feel more comfortable.
Salmonbum 02-25-2005, 12:49 PM I just called my mommy that works at a Chevy Dealer. The Service manager checked and found nothing on the 03' Injector warranty extened past 100k, but he said that it may be something that's coming. Anyone have Die Hard proof From GM?
Scotty Seelen 02-25-2005, 04:40 PM From what I've been seeing on this forum, ALL year Duramax's should have the 200K warranty on injectors. Is Bosch producing different/updated/better performing injectors for replacements yet? If mine ever do go, I don't want the same exact injectors put back in. That makes no sense whatsoever.
MaineMax 02-25-2005, 09:23 PM When people say "they call GM" , who are you calling specifically? what is the number
nooner426 02-25-2005, 10:41 PM you guy's scare the hell out of me boy i wish i did my homework better. i sit and wait for my (seemingly) inevetable injector issues. anyone got a good story about injectors?
aketay 02-25-2005, 10:49 PM nooner426, 51k miles and still running good.
MaineMax 02-25-2005, 11:26 PM Nooners, traveling to CT and back notice really poor fuel mileage and my oil smelt like fuel. Oil pressure seemed to drop as well. Took it in, all had 8 injectors replaced.
Watch for the signs, so you get it early to prevent any further issues (cylinder wash)
DURASPANK 02-26-2005, 09:17 AM nooner426, 82k and still running strong.(knock on wood
Grey Ghost 02-26-2005, 07:19 PM nooner426, FWIW, I have 96,000 miles on stock injectors, no mods, no fuel additives, no secondary filtration. I do NOT baby it!!!!!!! I am not afraid to put the pedal to the metal and let the ECM and PCM do their job!! DAMN this thing shifts smoooooooth!!!
I just do regular maintenance.
