Anyone have any opinions on this - all I really want it for is my 2004.5 GMC Duramax. If you think they're okay, which one is best to buy. Let me know also if there is another one that would work better. I have an Edge/Attitude so a Predator isn't an option.
Thanks

you can buy any scanner out there today. There are OBDII scanners that you can get from AutoZone or any automotive store.

they are very good. they are like 140..I found mine at Sears for 120 and it has paid for itself several times over.
here is the one I have and have used it on several cars as well.

if you are planning on putting a tuner on your truck then you can always get a predator and it has scanning abilities built in as well as tuner stuff.

Thanks Braino - that answer helps me out. I alreay have the Edge/Attitude so I just need a scanner. Do you or does anyone else know if there are codes that some of these scanners don't have? Maybe they can be downloaded?
Thanks again for the help,
Wes

Some folks in other posts have expressed doubts about the ability of the Actron to display GM specific codes. You might want to check with Actron on this. It will not display injector balance rates like the Predator.

I just order one today - hope it works. I did send them an email to confirm if it could read the new GM codes we have in our trucks. If it can't read them, it'll probably be going back. If anyone else can confirm this, I'd sure appreciate it.
Thanks again
