I thought the only fuel pump was the bosch cp3 injection pump. What are all of the components in the duramax fuel delivery/injection system? Only the CP3 sucking fuel from the tank. Until you get up there in the 250 + range on added hp at the crank, you don't need a lift pump. Some guys have them to make sure they get plenty of fuel to the CP3, to solve a vacuum leak (now it is a fuel leak!), or to help out a week CP3, IMHO. The lift pump goes back at the tank, mounts to the frame rail. Check out Kennedy's site or Merchants for units. FASS makes one that is popular. ON EDIT: Damn! got beat again.
