I apologize for asking a question that's probobly already been covered- but I haven't had the time to read the endless threads to search out info on this particular tuner. If someone has one can you tell me the good , bad and/or ugly? I have a chance to buy one at a good price. Thanks:)

I have one, I also got it cheap. I set it to the 90hp setting and went for a cruise , stepped on it and said Holy S H I T. It just made the truck even more fun to drive, i live in saskatchewan also and every time I go up the Qu'appelle valleys I laugh cause it just sets you back in the seat

The good : easy to use and when your done programming put it away and theres no evedience you loaded more power.
The bad : No rev limiter remover, you hit 160kms in a few secs and she backs off...but hey it may be fast enough for some. also doesn't clear codes.
The ugly : Well I can't think of any, its a good programmer thats cheap and does the trick. Remove your muffler http://www.dieselplace.com/forum/images/smilies/wink.gif

Good Luck

PS : I know the edge ,TTS , Predetor ,and Bully Dog are more prefered but the Hypertech was 1/4 the price , I took it, and I'm happy with it. My .02

I have have the Hypertech for my LLY. Normal street driving I put it on Level 3. It definately gets up and goes, but for towing I put it on Level 2. The only reason why I bought the Hypertech is that its supposedly okay to tow in all 3 levels. I'm a little scared to tow in level 3. I believe my programmer makes you clear any codes before making any changes. Have fun!

Thanks for the replys! Machoosh- I've been through the Qu'Appelle valley too-- used to go to the Fort a couple times a year-It's a pretty good pull through there with the trailer. I'm over here in Speedy Creek.

For the LLY,I could not recommend it based on my experience. Haven't tried it on the LB7...

No issues at all with mine when I ran one on my LB7. 1/4 times went from 16.3 to 15.4 on stage 3. The good part-no worries with this programmer on a stock tranny.
