As heavy as that tranny is, I'd say just rent a tranny jack. I've done that several times and it's worth it because a floor jack really isn't stable enough to R&R an automatic safely.

I would rather buy a harbor freight tool than rent one. I know I may only use it once every 3-5 years but at least I will own it. Will this be better suited? http://www.harborfreight.com/cpi/ctaf/displayitem.taf?Itemnumber=91020

I would think that either one would work fiine. If you're running a transmission shop and using it every day.....maybe not. But once every year or so.....sure.

The first one that was posted will work thats what i used to do my tranny swap and its nice with that adjuster to line everything up when your bolting it up.
