I was hooking up stuff on the new engine last night and noticed that the PMD I relocated to the front bumper is getting nasty looking.
I mounted the aluminum cooler in the hole in the bumper as many have done, and bolted it to the bumper, with the PMD facing rear and then took the plastic cover for this hole and mounted it backwards to protect the PMD from the rear.

I noticed the cooler showing corrosion where mounted to the bumper even though I used anti-sieze. Also the PMD mounting screws were getting rusty. I am in NW Pennsylvania where the answer to snow is to pile salt on top of it so the PMD is exposed to a harsh environment.

My usual solution is to spray the part with oil to protect it but I don't think I want to do this with the PMD. Any suggestion on how to protect the PMD and cooler better, and still maintain optimum function?

Thanks

You can spray your heatsink with oil but not the PMD. You can caulk the edge of the PMD where the surface meet the heatsink with RTV. I used a #6 1" long SS screw instead of the supplied screw. Or put a little dab of the Dielectric grease on top of the screw. Use dieselectric grease on the connector. Of course, I am in TX, we don't salt our street too often.
