got a o7.5 with a ppe programmer its a dually and i pull 12000 lbs trailer with race car in it i was wondering if anyone has gutted or cut out the exhaust filter and gained anything just wondering i tow with the programmer on the second setting which is supposed to be safe for towing any weight and after a few hundred miles of towing this summer it shuts down no check engine light or codes or anything just shuts down i can roll the key to off and then restart engine and runs finefor another 20 miles or so just thinking that the turbo is getting hot and wondering if doing away with that exhaust filter would help any replys would be appreciated

There is no such thing as an 07.5 LLY. It has to be an LBZ if it's a classic. If it's the newer body style then it's an LMM.

I can't answer your question, but wanted to point that out to you since I seen it. Hope you get it fixed bud.

you can actually remove the dpf and piece together a turbo/downpipe back exhaust. you may have to tell the aftermarket mfrs what you're attempting as i dont think they sell a full exhaust for an lmm. they may set you up with an lbz exhaust that will fit you're truck. as for the truck shutting off, are there any codes displaying?? if the programmer wasn't designed for an lmm, the tune could be ****in with the regen cycle. does the ppe you're using have the option for dpf delete??

contact chad from alligator performance.... he can set you up.

First off, sounds like your going into limp mode. The most likley reason it is limping is the tune you are running is starting to clog the DPF up. Thats my thought, could be something else causing problem. You do not want to tow with a tune and th DPF though it WILL clog the dpf. Second, you can remove the dpf and get a tuner, or upgrade yours for 'off road use". Get a turbo back kit for an LBZ or LLY. It will bolt right up.
