: Fuel sender - screwing up OBD emissions?

My wrench says the (well known) fuel sender problem is messing up the OBD as part of the evaporative fuel recovery system. Can this be? He's not trying to get me into a new sender he'd like to just get it to pass emissions for me. Do we have a "fix" if it is the cause?

TIA, as always - Dave

What is the actual code?

Turns out the code was P0463 - FUEL LEVEL SENSOR CIRCUIT SIGNAL HI/OPEN. He cleared the codes and retested and the truck passed. ( just like I asked him to only a few hours earlier). So I predict this will be re-occuring thing every year at inspection (cause I ain't gonna fix the sender) Total ticket was $163.00 not bad for an ebay truck with 100K on the ticker, eh? Both stickers and a bulb was all, yippee!

hope this helps somebody else at inspection time.
