Whats everybody charging for costum baling? Just got a call this morning that the neighbor wants us to hay his land for him, and were not sure on the price of baling. Thanks in advance

My buddy charges $7 a bale. He said most people charge $8-8.50 but by charging $7 he has been getting more business. Just about finished up with a 2500 bale job

I used to custom round bale for 10-16/bale depending on the customer plus i knocked off 2% if it was paid @ the time it was done

Are we talking small squares or big rounds? Big rounds around here are usurally running around $30 a bale.

That is reasonable. My neighbor was getting $30-$35 but maybe that included cutting. We've never done custom haying or at least not yet.

I was always higher than others doin it but still had more than i could handle even running 3 balers so kept charging more to weed them out. Then i got wise went to big sqaures then just went to silage bags and New Holland chopper got it done so much faster that way

4x5 5x5 or 5x6 or 6x6? The smaller the bale the more bales and so forth.

I know you all are talking about the round bales, but I just had a neighbor cut, rake, and bale 100 bales of the small rectangle bales for $1.25 each. Seemed reasonable to me.

$1.25 is pretty decent for the small square. I would of paid $2 if he would of hauled and stacked to! :D We just got done doing almost 850 of the idiot cubes last weekend.

I think we were paying $8.50 for 5x6 bales netwrapped last year, not sure on this year's price but I'm sure it went up some. Most of our hay is close and our fields are smooth so he can make good time so I think he gives us a little cheaper price than some other guys. If I was custom baling I would charge an hourly rate and then a small per bale charge to cover the net wrap or twine costs.

We are getting $16-$20 for 4x5 bales net wrapped. That includes cut, rake, and bale.
