Is it safe to run the dual layer OEM filter along with the Nictane pre-oem while running Juice/Attitude? Don't want to restrict fuel flow too much.

Dunno. I apparently have too much restriction with the MEGA, old style filter and NO mods. How much is a lift pump? SPICER :help2:

Not sure? I haven't explored that avenue. Hope I don't have to.

I would call them on it. I wonder if they have the Racor or Baldwin branded filters. I did see they had to come up on the price of their old style finally. Must of ran out of the 2nds they had.

Isn't it amazing how sometimes the best of intentions can go bad? :)

You were just letting people know what was out there. Its Oil Guard that ripped off the pictures.

Word gets around quickly. I did not even have to notify them... ;)

Let's hope there aren't any "seconds" available on these.

Now that is scary! Installing a "seconds" filter that is lacking enough as a "first" No wonder they are so cheap....

Good thing the fuel system isnt that expensive

I ran this same question past Eric about my Racor pre-OEM filter system. He said there should be no restriction problems. I do not have Juice/Attitude.

I just got a call from Mark Meddock at Oilguard. He called to appologize to me personally for any flack I may have taken for the pictures used on his website. He told me he called John Kennedy and appologized to him personally also.

The pictures were sent to him when somebody inquired whether Oilguard was carrying the filter yet. He had saved the pictures and assumed they were pictures provided by Racor. He assured me he never intended to misuse someone elses property. He says it was an honest mistake and sincerely appologizes to anyone who may have been wronged, especially any members or fellow vendors. Now, "can we all just get along?" I've been running the nictane for about 55,000 miles now. No problems. Ijust put the J/A on my truck last week. No problems at all. I just want to know if the double layer OEM and the Nictane would be too restrictive running J/A.

How do we know it is any better?

How do we know it is any better?

Without doing controlled before and after ISO cleanliness/particle count tests we can't be 100% certain. However, the new filter (according to Racor) uses the SAME media as the old filter. The new filter has 2 layers of media, not 1. So each pass the fuel is filtered twice. This MUST be better than once. I was told also that the new filter has the SAME quantity of filter media as the old filter. So it has roughly half of the media in the first layer and half the media in the second layer. My intuition tells me the new filter would then be TWICE as efficient as the old media and have roughly HALF the dirt holding capacity. Ironically, we have been told by a Racor rep. that the new filter has the SAME micron rating as the old filter (2 micron) :blahblah: and twice the dirt holding capacity. I may not be a filter engineer but that is totally bass ackwards. I think the rep. was smoking no filtereds. However, it also seems logical that the new filter would be twice as restrictive. My priming thumb hurts just thinking about it! SPICER
