How do you adjust the power steering pump pulley on an 03 LB7? I'm experiencing a pain in the ass squealing and the only other culprit is my belt, bad alternator or bad alingment on the power steering pump pulley. Has the pulley been an issue with anyone on here and what was the fix, move in or move out?

Make sure it isn't the pulley on the belt tensioner. That is a known culprit to many of the belt squealing issues. If it locks up, it will toast the belt in a hurry.

My belt tension pully started squeking alot. I just sprayed some silicone lube on it for a bit and it went away has not squeaked for a few months.

ive replaced the idle pulleys and tensioner pulley bearing. its neither one of those. its not my alternator, just picked up a reman, bolted that on, cleaned all the pulleys with alcohol and brush, cleaned my belt with alcohol and scotch brite the back of the belt. put back on, started it up.. no squeal for about a minute and now it sounds like theres a cricket under my hood. its still something that is wrong, only culprit is misalingment and i want to know if the steering pump pulley can be readjusted. otherwise i have a gatorback coming in 2morrow and hope it goes away. nice truck, sounds like sh1t.

I put on the gatorback belt and there is no noise now. But, theres is still a misalingment problem. The idler pulley to the left of the water pump wobbels real bad and the belt is all over that pulley. I don't understand how a new pulley can still do that, theres got to be something causeing it. Only thing left to do now is take my truck in and have the power steering checked out. I noticed when the belt was off there was some play in the pulley. I could actually move the pulley in or out just a little. Could this be the problem or is this something thats normal for a $40,000 truck to do. Hell my dakota with more than 245,000 miles on it with all original pulleys and a belt that has over 150,000 miles on it runs truer than whats on this. All in all the gatorback belt did make the chirping squeeling sound go away but that can't be the fix because there was nothing wrong with my old one. Isn't there a TSB or something on this, it seems like everyone has had this problem and its a shot in the dark to fix it.
