I have a problem and don't have a clue what to do next, any help will be appreciated.
Truck - 1991 GMC P30 (step van) with 6.2 liter diesel with 4l80e transmission.
Blew the transmission so rather than pay for a 60 mile tow to the nearest transmission shop decided to rebuid it myself. (please stop laughing).
Rebuid seemed to go great, upgraded everything, transgo kit, all new cluthes and steels, kevlar bands, and a new overdrive assembly (the roller cluth had self destructed), new selenoids, internal wiring harness, plus new bearings, seals, and gaskets. No problems untll I had installed eyerthing only to discover that nothing works. (OK now you can laugh)
Diagnostics to date shows no fuid being pumped (disconnected cooler lines with engine on), no codes.
Prior to disassembly checked distance from front of transmisson to front of torque converter and had exactly same distance after rebuild (11/16th in).
However when I went to install the torque converter to flex plate I had to shove the torque converter forwrd 1/4 to 3/8". I assume this disconnected the torque converter from the pump but have no idea what caused this and worse how to fix it. New Torque converter was purchased from oregon performace transmission.
All joking aside I'm in serious trouble here, any help would be appreciated.
