Well tonight I got a comment from a local in my town. He said, "man that's the best sounding best running Chevy diesel I've ever heard." My reply "Well thanks I guess :) He then proceeded to say his friend has a 98 and his lawn mower has more power than it.

I told him it takes some work and upkeep to make them run, but you can make them run like a Powerstroke or Cummins.

Needless to say after fixing/replacing my turbo that was going to affixate somebody and my dumb #$)*# installation mishap of deciding to plug the oil drain off new turbo it's running pretty good, and man does this new turbo whine like the dickens. Maybe from me removing turbo muffler or now it's just working correctly or both with the monsterous exhaust but it's starting to be fun. I'm getting way to addicted to this thing.

Weekend project, changing PMD as it stalled again tonight, well let's call it completely cut out during hard accelleration, started right back up!! Just when you start to smile it seems like it let's you know not to get too comfortable. Oh yeah and trans temp gauge as weather begins to break, it will be horse hauling time. My daughter decided she needed another bag of bones so it will be 2 at a time with steel trailer that'll be some weight back there.:ro)

TJ,
I got same comment a while back, but do have comfort of knowing what these engines can do if set up rite, next time he ribs you do a search for parts for either, I bought a full set of HO injectors for about same price of 1 of the newer engines stock injectors.

The exhaust is the first modification to make, then guages and boost control.

I would suggest gages first so that you can get a baseline for the stock configuration. That's what I did, and I'm glad to have the data.

Hi Warren you found the right spot lot of 6.5 been there done that, here.

I did both instruments & exhaust at same time, looking back now; probably have to agree with RJ, nothing more satisfying seeing your numbers get better with each mod added instruments help you tracjk gains and if you have problems that need to be fixed first that mods may hide for a while. When you get some time stroll to the welcome message and the FAQs at top of this forum header for some good tips on how to improve on your 6.5's longevity & performance.
