Well, it's being installed as we speak. That Allison is a big *****:hail: I'm gonna head to the shop tomorrow and see what the internals looked like after beating it. I'll let you guys know how it runs as soon as I get it back. Nick

It should be up and running by Friday. Man, this has been a LONG week without my truck. Right now I'm driving a Chevy 6.5 Cabin Chassis with a dumper. It could be worse though, right Juice? Lol.

Well I won't get the truck back till next week. Allison sent us the wrong over haul kit and there were a few other issues. But, man those are some big parts in there. I couldn't believe how many parts there was too. This is the first time I saw the internals of any tranny. Hopefully the weather will be good when I get it back to do a few test runs and relay the info back to you guys.

what are the "few other issues"

What kind of "overhaul kit" are you getting?

Need some one to put some serious power to the DTT to see what it will hold. I'm not talking just twins either. I'm looking for the elusive "SUPER TRANNY". signed, Desperate. Can't STOMP when you can only tip toe.

Upon further inspection Tom found a few more clutches that were burnt up. Also, the shift kit did not arrive either. As far as I know the over haul kit is coming from Allison. They apparently sent the wrong one the first time around. Looks like a lot of snow will be coming our way in the next few days so I'm not that pissed about the delay. As soon as I get it I'll be putting it through its paces. I'll finally be able to take off my defueling!

I woulda thought you would have all clutches on hand for a Juiced 01 truck with xxx miles. What 'shift kit'? Who's converter are you using?

Hi Bubbs,

What are you drivin'around the park while the truck is in the shop? The go-kart I assume!! Is it up for mods next?:joke:

Take care

Ok sorry for the delay guys. We got hit with a big snow storm and I finished last night.

Well I got my truck back and am very pleased. I hate to say it but I beat the P I S S out of it today and had no problems whatsoever. The 4-5 shift really grabs now. Before it would just rev and sit there or go into limp mode. From a full boost launch this tranny just rifled through the gears with authority. Every gear hooked up great. There were a few times where the 3-4 shift felt "soft" but it seemed to get better the more I drove it. Guess the Allison was still learning.

I love the fact that I can now drive in level 5 with no defueling on any gears and not worry about limping it. We'll see how it does with a stack in the very near future. Thanks Tom and DTT for a great tranny!!

Sounds like i will have to take my truck to the dealer for a trans reflash.

From what i understand that is the root of my downshifting issue.

I never ever have had any flash done to the truck. I suppose it is time

Duratys

From that i take it that Stefan had one as well? Sooo a reflash is just to basically update the software controlling the trans or engine?

I think the TCM alone can be flashed.... will find out and post the results

I don't believe a reflash at the dealer will do anything for you guys if you are trying to get rid of the downshift clunk. I think the trans mods have gone beyond the parameters of the TCM adapts and it's stuck in fast learn.

Oddly enough there is another Stage2 out there currently without the aggressive downshifts i have.

The upshifts are sure nice.... Clicks off upshifts like a soldier's salute! Crisp, Clean and Positive.

ooops... look at the time I have to go 'hook' to my sled (Flatdeck)

My downshofts are nice, it seems to be just juice's truck.

A week and a half without my truck and my sponsor's sticker on my side door window:ro) Actually my truck is being used as a beta test machine for Fine Tuning (Tom) He does performance transmissions here in the Northeast and wanted to see what all the hype was with DTT and their Allison trannys. I'll get the prices for the Stage 1 and Stage 2 for you guys tomorrow as Tom is gone for the evening.

My DTT seems to be getting better and better with every mile I put on it. I don't know why I didn't start with this mod to begin with. I feel a huge difference in the way my truck drives now. It seems that my truck pulls harder but I guess that has to do with finally getting all those extra horses to the ground. Great product. Now to wait for Stefan to come out with that convertor and I can install my Stage 2:cool: Got a time frame on that Stefan?:D

Sorry I couldn't get back to you guys earlier but Tom and I have been fine tuning the DTT. It seems he wasn't completely satisfied with the 2-3 upshift and wanted to firm it up a little. Everytime he tinkers with my tranny it seems to get better. Believe me guys, I'm not kissing ass here. The DTT tranny really does perform very well and I can't wait to see how it responds to the new Quad programmer stacked with my Juice.

As far as pricing goes here's the deal. Remember, these prices are for an installed unit in Canadian dollars. Stage 1 consists of: Transgo Shift Kit, DTT Stage 1, single clutch torque with billet cover and an over haul kit w/upgraded stator support rings. $5500.00 CDN. Stage 2 includes everything Stage 1 has but also includes C3 and C4 upgraded piston set and CNC machined housing for $6990.00 CDN installed.

Now back to beating on my tranny.......
