It doesnt really matter but my curiosity is getting to me: Why does the exhaust from a power stroke smell completely different than all of the other diesels? Is there a mechanical explanation for it? Maybe the way the fuel is introduced?

I think it has something to do with the CAT. With it in it smells almost like propane. I took mine out and its still a little different smell but more like other diesels.

I know, I told my friend that has an 02 7.3 about how his smells totally different than others. It is strange

they stink...period. when we go hunting with my friend he loves to keep his ford running even after getting there, and every one always says shut that stinky pos off!!!
