Hi all, I'm a diesel newbie and just bought a 99 k2500 (8600lb) with a 6.5, automatic and 223,000km on it.
I just got it from a friend who drove it to a shop for regular maintenance and after a week they couldn't start it.
The shop owner bs'd his way out of even trying to fix it I think since when I asked him what codes it spit out he said none and then when I asked if the obd2 connector was wired in properly (autostart and alarm wired in closeby) he said no...ummmmm...bs..
I took it to a friends and we hooked up his scantool ($400 version) and it spit out only this code -----
p0001
I have looked it up and it say "fuel volume pressure control regulator"
I also have no WTS light and the glow plugs are not energizing
I also have what appears to be a blown gasket on on side of intake
(up high ..where intake splits...some lost pressure I'm sure)
This is alot of possibilities I know but can someone direct me to where and how to test my Fuel volume pressure control regulator
At least I could start on it..instead of pacing around it...lol
The engine turns fine (sounds like normal turning speed)
is there a link someone knows about for the electrical
This truck ran like new till it wouldn't start btw.
I have been shopping for days for a damn manual and can't find one in my area and I ordered an online version and it will be downloading for another day and a half (if it works--lots of lightning and power outages here)
Thanks
