i am still learning about the 6.5td so here is another question. can the fuel pump be played with to make more power like you can a Cummins? and is that air intake muffler thing that goes over the alt. needed?

Only thing I suggest playing with is search and the FAQ's. Very easy to do.

that search thing is not the bible you may love it but maybe some people want to hear others opinion on somthing. i asked a ? about playing with the fuel pump and you put that i could find it in the search. all i found in your search thing is how to set it back to factory timming!

Well, let's see. It's not my fault no one else has posted in this thread, don't go crying to me you want to hear someone else's opinion, sorry, but I can't force anyone to post. Now, onto helping you...

May I suggest a couple search terms, like:
Optic bump
turning pump

I found this thread in just a couple minutes using the search term "turning pump" it was on page 2.

whoa whoa calm down now RC and DF. diezel freak just wanted to know if there was anything he can do.

you can adjust your IP timing a bit if you've got the proper tools and a scantool that will tell you the offset. you can also do an optic bump(which i'm looking into myself) for more power. i'm off to read how to do an optic bump and see if i can fill my boredom with something to do.
