I am looking into getting a new air hitch. The most obvious I see is Airsafe, I would get their 18K slider hitch for about $2300, fairly expensive.

I see another option out there that seems really good also, but not sure about the technology, and that is the 5th Airborne Sidewinder, which replaces my stock pinbox with their pinbox which has the suspension built into it. Anybody familiar with this technology or this brand? Its cheaper at about $1400.

There is a thread around here where allot of posters raved about the Sidewinder.

I was lucky and found a almost new 25K AirSafe hitch I picked up for $1300, sweet!! I was going to couple it with a sidewinder to move the pivot point back (current truck is a 2500 HD CC short box), but after much debate, I am towing to much weight for a single axle 3/4 ton truck (15K toyhauler with 3000 lb pin weight), going to find a dually, so won't need the sidewinder.

Check RV.Net there is a ton of info on there about hitches. Seems like a lot of people use the 5th Airborne.

just installed the 5th airborne, way smoother ride ,eliminated most all of the chucking and bouncing. did not get the sidewinder as B&W says not to use on the companion hitch, i have plenty of clearence.
